Mercedes-Benz Vans is adding a new flagship to its UK Vito Crew van line-up with the introduction of the Vito Sport-X, a UK-exclusive model combining distinctive motorsport-inspired styling with additional comfort and equipment.
Created as Mercedes-Benz marks 130 years of transportation, the new Sport-X builds on the existing Vito SELECT specification and will be available to order from September, priced from £56,995 excluding VAT.
Offered exclusively as a five-seat Crew van, the Sport-X is available in both L2 and L3 body lengths and is powered by Mercedes-Benz’s 2.0-litre diesel engine producing 190 PS and 440 Nm of torque.
Power is delivered through the nine-speed 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission, with the Vito Sport-X capable of accelerating from 0–62 mph in 10 seconds.
Sportier look for flagship Vito
The biggest changes are immediately apparent on the outside, where Mercedes-Benz has given the Sport-X a considerably more purposeful appearance.
A redesigned front bumper and grille incorporates an integrated splitter, while side skirts, a rear spoiler, roof rails and gloss black detailing help distinguish the newcomer from the rest of the Vito range.
Sport-X badging and motorsport-inspired stripes across the bonnet and sides complete the transformation, alongside distinctive 19-inch diamond-cut black alloy wheels.
Alpine Grey is the standard exterior colour, although buyers can choose Arctic White or one of six metallic finishes — Sodalite Blue, Obsidian Black, Kalahari Gold, High Tech Silver, Graphite Grey and Hyacinth Red — at no additional cost.
Sport seats replace front bench
Mercedes-Benz has also given the cabin a significant makeover.
Rather than the conventional three-seat front bench, the Sport-X receives individual front sports seats featuring integrated headrests and redesigned bolsters, together with Sport-X branding.
Black eco-leather and dark grey suede upholstery is combined with orange contrast stitching to reinforce the motorsport theme.
Heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, wireless smartphone charging and a centre console with additional storage are all included as standard.
The underlying Vito SELECT equipment specification remains, bringing smartphone integration, TEMPMATIC air conditioning and ambient interior lighting.
A comprehensive suite of driver assistance technology is also standard, including Active Brake Assist, Blind Spot Assist and Active Lane Keeping Assist.
Still built to work
Despite the Sport-X’s more distinctive appearance and upgraded cabin, Mercedes-Benz has retained the practicality expected from the Vito.
Depending on body length and specification, payload capacity extends to 733 kg, while the maximum load volume is 4.1 cubic metres. Towing capacity is up to 2,500 kg.
The rear passenger bench can also be removed when greater carrying capacity is required, allowing the Sport-X to switch between passenger and load-carrying duties.

Every Vito Sport-X is supplied with Mercedes-Benz Vans’ support package, including a three-year manufacturer’s warranty, MobiloVan roadside assistance and breakdown cover, together with Uptime Monitor.
The latter is designed to identify potential vehicle issues and help minimise unexpected downtime — an important consideration for operators using their Vito as a working vehicle.
