Canyon has expanded its Lux World Cup cross-country mountain bike range with a new limited-edition model featuring SRAM’s Flight Attendant automatic suspension technology.

The system has already been seen in competition on Canyon bikes contesting the XCO and XCC World Cup series, but until now the specification ridden by the brand’s professional racers has not been available to customers.

That changes with the arrival of the Canyon Lux World Cup CFR Ltd, which combines the latest Lux World Cup chassis with SRAM and RockShox technology designed to automatically adapt the bike’s suspension to changing terrain and rider input.

Automatic suspension for the race circuit

Flight Attendant works alongside SRAM’s AXS wireless rear derailleur, pedal sensor and power meter, together with compatible RockShox front and rear suspension.

By continuously analysing data from the bike and rider, the system automatically selects the suspension setting it considers best suited to the conditions.

Three modes are available: Open, providing full suspension movement for rougher and more technical terrain; Pedal, designed to balance efficiency and suspension performance; and Lock, which prioritises power transfer when maximum pedalling efficiency is required.

Adjustments are made automatically while riding, allowing the system to respond as the bike moves between climbs, sprints, descents and technical sections.

Built around Canyon’s latest Lux World Cup

The latest-generation Lux World Cup was introduced earlier this year with five models, with Canyon focusing on reducing weight while improving speed and capability across increasingly demanding modern cross-country courses.

The new Flight Attendant-equipped CFR Ltd becomes the sixth model in the line-up.

Its carbon frame has been designed around 120mm of front suspension travel and 110mm at the rear, accompanied by a slacker geometry intended to provide greater stability at speed without compromising the climbing and sprinting performance expected from an XC race bike.

Flight Attendant adds another dimension by continually adapting the suspension to those changing demands rather than relying on the rider to manually switch between settings.

World Cup-inspired specification

Canyon has given the limited-edition model a suitably high-end component package, including a RockShox SID Ultimate Flight Attendant 120mm fork and SRAM X0 AXS wireless Eagle Transmission with power meter.

A RockShox Reverb AXS dropper post is joined by SRAM Motive Silver four-piston brakes, while DT Swiss XRC 1200 wheels are fitted with 2.4-inch Schwalbe Rick XC Pro tyres.

An Ergon SRS Carbon Pro saddle completes the race-focused specification.

The bike also receives an exclusive MyCanyon deep-red hand-stamped ‘Carina’ paint finish, matching the appearance of bikes raced by XCC and XCO World Cup riders Luca Schwarzbauer and Thibaut Francois-Baudry.
