Vauxhall Brit's What We Do campaign celebrating British motoring heritage

New advertising campaign highlights more than 120 years of British motoring history, UK manufacturing and the everyday people who have helped shape the Vauxhall story.

Vauxhall is putting its British heritage firmly in the spotlight with a new advertising campaign celebrating the people, places and everyday experiences that have helped make the manufacturer a familiar name on Britain’s roads.

Launching on 2 November 2026, ‘Brit’s What We Do’ draws on the company’s history, its continuing commitment to UK vehicle production and its relationship with generations of British motorists.

The campaign will appear across video-on-demand platforms and social media, combining familiar scenes of British life with Vauxhall’s current range of cars and vans.

More Than 120 Years of British Motoring

Vauxhall’s origins date back to 1857, although its first motor car did not appear until 1903. That pioneering vehicle featured a single-cylinder engine producing just five horsepower.

Since then, the company has become one of Britain’s best-known automotive names, producing vehicles for families, businesses and commercial operators.

The new campaign draws on that history while looking towards the manufacturer’s electric future.

From the School Run to Loch Ness

The campaign features 60-second and 30-second films depicting recognisable moments of British life.

Everyday scenes include the morning school run, a school crossing patrol and even a humorous reference to the Loch Ness Monster.

Rather than concentrating entirely on vehicle specifications, Vauxhall is using these familiar situations to reinforce its connection with British motorists.

The campaign also introduces a longer-term creative identity intended to run across the manufacturer’s future marketing communications.

British Manufacturing Takes Centre Stage

An important element of the campaign is the Vauxhall Combo Electric, manufactured at the company’s Ellesmere Port plant in Cheshire.

The facility became the UK’s first electric-only volume vehicle manufacturing plant, marking a significant change in the site’s long industrial history.

The Combo Electric also carries the official Made in Britain trademark, reflecting Vauxhall’s renewed partnership with the organisation promoting British-made products.

The campaign arrives as the manufacturer continues its transition towards electrification. Vauxhall has offered an electric version of every van model since 2021 and every car model since 2024, alongside hybrid and conventional petrol-powered alternatives.

Team GB Athletes Join the Campaign

Vauxhall’s partnership with Team GB also features prominently as athletes prepare for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

Four ambassadors appear in the campaign: taekwondo athlete Caden Cunningham, diver Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix, track cyclist Emma Finucane MBE and gymnast Jake Jarman.

Their involvement connects the campaign’s themes of determination and perseverance with Vauxhall’s role as an official automotive partner of Team GB.

A New Chapter for the Griffin

The campaign follows the introduction of Vauxhall’s updated Griffin emblem, part of the manufacturer’s wider efforts to refresh its identity.

Clare White, Vauxhall Marketing Director, said the campaign celebrates the brand’s British roots and its customers, while reinforcing its commitment to practical, affordable mobility and continued investment in British manufacturing.

Motoring Echo Perspective

For Vauxhall, British identity remains an important distinction in an increasingly competitive automotive market.

The campaign makes use of a manufacturing history stretching back more than a century, while giving particular prominence to Ellesmere Port and the company’s electric vehicle ambitions.

Although Vauxhall is now part of the multinational Stellantis group, its continuing UK manufacturing operations provide a tangible connection to the British heritage highlighted in the advertising.

Whether that connection resonates with today’s car buyers remains to be seen, but the campaign offers a reminder of the manufacturer’s longstanding place in British motoring.
