The all-new Mercedes-Benz GLA has made its global debut, introducing a more dynamic design, a significantly upgraded digital cabin and an advanced electric powertrain lineup that reinforces the premium brand’s ambitions in the compact SUV sector.
Blending sharper styling with greater practicality and next-generation technology, the latest GLA has been engineered to deliver a more refined and intuitive ownership experience for urban drivers while retaining the versatility expected from a family SUV.
The new model launches with three fully electric variants, with electrified petrol-powered models featuring 48-volt hybrid technology due to join the range at a later date.

Sharper Exterior Design
The all-new GLA adopts a lower overall silhouette, a longer wheelbase and a wider rear track to create a noticeably sportier stance than its predecessor. Pronounced shoulder lines, flush-mounted wheels and cleaner body surfaces further enhance its athletic appearance.
One of the standout features is Mercedes-Benz’s illuminated front grille, bringing the brand’s latest illuminated signature to the compact SUV segment and giving the GLA a distinctive day and night-time identity.
Customers can personalise the vehicle through four trim lines for the first time, including Style Line, AMG Line Plus and the new Night Edition, alongside the optional Night Package.
Larger, More Premium Interior
Inside, Mercedes-Benz has completely redesigned the cabin with an emphasis on space, technology and premium materials.
A panoramic glass roof helps flood the interior with natural light, while the dashboard is dominated by the latest MBUX Superscreen, integrating the driver display, central infotainment screen and passenger display into one seamless digital interface.
High-quality materials, floating design elements and the available Burmester® 3D Surround Sound System further enhance the premium atmosphere.
Despite its sleeker proportions, the new GLA offers increased headroom and legroom for occupants along with a larger luggage compartment and an additional 107-litre front storage compartment on electric models.
Up to 657km of Electric Range
At launch, the electric GLA will be available in three versions:
- GLA 200 electric
- GLA 250+ electric
- GLA 350 4MATIC electric
The flagship electric models offer a WLTP driving range of up to 657 kilometres, making the GLA suitable for both daily commuting and longer journeys.
Built on an 800-volt electrical architecture, the battery can recover up to 270 kilometres of driving range in just 10 minutes when connected to a suitable high-power DC charger.
Mercedes-Benz has also confirmed that high-tech electrified combustion models with 48-volt mild-hybrid technology will join the range shortly, offering electric-only driving at low speeds, energy recuperation and enhanced efficiency.
Smarter AI-Powered MBUX System
The new GLA becomes one of the most intelligent compact SUVs in the Mercedes-Benz line-up thanks to the latest generation of the MBUX Virtual Assistant, powered by generative artificial intelligence.
The system is capable of holding natural conversations, remembering previous requests and responding to multi-part questions much like a human assistant.
Navigation has also been enhanced, allowing the system to provide real-time information on charging stations, parking availability and local points of interest without interrupting the conversation.
Mercedes-Benz has also expanded its entertainment offering, with access to more than 40 integrated applications including YouTube, Disney+, Sony Pictures Entertainment’s RIDEVU platform, and future compatibility with DAZN and Apple AirPlay video functionality.
Greater Capability Beyond the City
Although primarily designed for urban life, the all-new GLA continues to offer genuine versatility.
Available all-wheel drive models feature:
- TERRAIN driving mode
- Transparent Bonnet technology for improved visibility over rough ground
- Up to two tonnes of towing capacity
These features enhance confidence both on challenging terrain and when towing larger trailers.
Advanced Driver Assistance
Mercedes-Benz has further expanded the GLA’s suite of driver assistance systems.
The latest MB.DRIVE ASSIST PLUS package enables automated lane changes on motorways under suitable conditions, while the parking assistance system has been upgraded with new automated manoeuvring functions designed to make everyday driving easier.
A comprehensive package of active and passive safety technologies also helps improve occupant protection and driver confidence.

Mercedes-Benz has announced German pricing for the new electric range:
- GLA 200 electric from €48,599.60
- GLA 250+ electric from €54,978
- GLA 350 4MATIC electric from €58,107.70
UK pricing and full model specifications will be announced closer to the vehicle’s market launch.
