MG Motor UK has been named Best Value Manufacturer at the Parkers Awards 2027, recognising its combination of competitive pricing, generous equipment and everyday practicality.

The award comes during a record-breaking period for MG, with the manufacturer reporting its strongest October sales performance and surpassing its previous annual UK sales record with two months of 2026 remaining.
Why has MG won the award?
The relaunched Parkers Awards place greater emphasis on what matters to British car buyers, including affordability and the overall cost of ownership.
Its Best Value Manufacturer category considers more than the showroom price, assessing equipment, interior space, practicality and running costs.
MG’s range of petrol, Hybrid+, plug-in hybrid and fully electric vehicles helped secure the award.
How affordable are new cars becoming?
Research highlighted by MG suggests that new-car prices have increased by 58% over the past decade, compared with growth of just 2% in household disposable income.
The figures underline the increasing pressure on motorists to find vehicles that balance purchase price with equipment, practicality and long-term ownership costs.
How well is MG performing in the UK?
MG registered 7,837 vehicles in October 2026, an increase of 85% compared with October 2025, making it the UK’s fourth best-selling car brand for the month.
The result marked MG’s seventh consecutive month of record sales. Registrations for the first ten months reached 86,767, up 25% year-on-year and already exceeding its previous full-year record.
What makes MG good value?
According to Parkers, MG’s appeal extends beyond competitive purchase prices to include interior space, equipment and everyday running costs.
“MG offers much more than a low purchase price. The value it provides comes in many forms, with elements such as the amount of equipment, space and practicality all playing a role.”
Tom Webster, Head of Content, Parkers
Webster highlighted the MG S9 as an example, pointing to its seven-seat accommodation, premium feel and straightforward specification.
MG has also expanded its aftersales support, introducing overnight parts deliveries and increasing training facilities at its Cecil Kimber College in Longbridge.
