Three consecutive pole positions and a victory in America put Aston Martin’s Vantage GT3 in contention for another strong finish as the 2026 World Endurance Championship concludes in Italy.
WHAT IS HAPPENING?
Aston Martin is targeting victory in the final round of the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), with its Vantage GT3 competing in the 6 Hours of Monza on Sunday, 8 November.
The Heart of Racing Team (THOR) arrives in Italy following an impressive LMGT3 campaign, including three consecutive pole positions and a race victory at the Circuit of the Americas.
HOW HAS VANTAGE PERFORMED THIS SEASON?
The Vantage GT3 has secured more LMGT3 pole positions than any other manufacturer during 2026, taking qualifying honours at Le Mans, São Paulo and Austin.
The #27 car, driven by Ian James, Mattia Drudi and Zach Robichon, won at Austin before finishing runner-up at Fuji.
With 62 championship points, the crew sits eighth in the LMGT3 standings, just 12 points behind third place heading into the finale.
CAN BOTH ASTON MARTIN ENTRIES FINISH ON THE PODIUM?
The sister #23 Vantage, driven by Gray Newell, Jonny Adam and Dudu Barrichello, has already achieved two podium finishes this season.
Although third place in the championship remains mathematically possible, the team’s immediate ambition is a first WEC victory for Newell and Barrichello.
WHAT COMES NEXT FOR ASTON MARTIN RACING?
Following Monza, Vantage will continue its international racing programme with appearances in the 2026/27 Asian Le Mans Series at Paul Ricard in France.
Four Aston Martin Racing partner teams are involved: Heart of Racing, YRB Racing in partnership with Racing Spirit of Léman, and Ecurie Ecosse Blackthorn.
Later in November, Comtoyou Racing will contest the FIA GT World Cup in Macau with Marco Sørensen and Jamie Day.
WHAT POWERS THE VANTAGE GT3?
The racing Vantage shares its fundamental architecture with Aston Martin’s road-going Vantage, featuring a bonded aluminium chassis and a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine.
WHEN AND WHERE CAN FANS WATCH?
The 6 Hours of Monza starts at 10:00 GMT on Sunday, 8 November 2026.
Live coverage of practice, qualifying and the race will be available through FIA WEC TV and selected national broadcasters.
