The Hyundai KONA Electric has secured the highest level of support available under the UK Government’s Electric Car Grant (ECG) scheme, with Hyundai Motor UK confirming the popular electric SUV now qualifies for the full £3,750 retail grant.
The announcement follows a successful review of the KONA Electric’s environmental credentials, including its supply chain and manufacturing processes. Previously eligible for a £1,500 Band 2 grant, customers purchasing the model from today will benefit from an additional £2,250, bringing the total incentive to the maximum available under the scheme.
The enhanced grant significantly improves the KONA Electric’s value proposition, reducing the entry price from £35,000 to £31,250 once the Government incentive is applied.
