Ferrari has brought the spirit of Maranello to New Delhi, staging its Universo Ferrari exhibition in India for the first time. The event celebrates the Italian marque’s extraordinary history, racing achievements and latest sports cars, while signalling further expansion in one of the world’s emerging luxury automotive markets.
For Ferrari, Universo Ferrari is much more than an exhibition of beautiful and exceptionally expensive cars. It represents another step in building a long-term relationship with India’s growing community of collectors, enthusiasts and potential customers.
The exhibition, open to the public until 1 November 2026, brings together Ferrari’s sports cars, racing heritage, technological innovation and craftsmanship in a celebration of the Prancing Horse.
Why is Ferrari investing in India?
India represents an increasingly interesting market for manufacturers of prestigious luxury and performance cars. Although the country’s market for ultra-luxury sports cars remains relatively small, its growing community of affluent collectors and enthusiasts offers considerable long-term potential.
Ferrari has confirmed plans to expand its retail presence, with additional openings expected in southern and western India before the end of 2026.
Universo Ferrari provides an opportunity to strengthen relationships with existing owners while introducing the marque’s history, values and future ambitions to a wider audience.
What can visitors discover at Universo Ferrari?
The exhibition takes visitors on a journey through Ferrari’s history, from its competition heritage to the advanced engineering and craftsmanship of its latest road cars.
Dedicated environments explore Ferrari’s current sports car range, the personalisation opportunities offered through Tailor Made, motorsport, Ferrari Classiche and the company’s relationship with India.
Ferrari Classiche, the division responsible for preserving and authenticating historic Ferrari models, provides an important reminder that the marque’s reputation has been built over generations.
Together, these displays demonstrate how Ferrari has developed from a racing organisation into one of the world’s most recognisable luxury automotive brands without abandoning its motorsport roots.
Ferrari’s racing heritage remains at the heart of the exhibition
Ferrari’s reputation was established on the racetrack long before its road cars became international symbols of performance and exclusivity.
That connection remains central to the brand’s identity. Universo Ferrari features a dedicated racing environment celebrating the engineering expertise and competitive ambition that continue to influence the company’s production cars.
Visitors can also discover Ferrari’s wider activities, including the Hypersail project, which extends the company’s interest in advanced engineering and performance beyond conventional motorsport.
Ferrari CEO highlights India’s importance
The exhibition was officially inaugurated by Ferrari Chief Executive Officer Benedetto Vigna. The opening programme was attended by clients, media representatives, partners and dignitaries, including Italy’s Ambassador to India, Antonio Bartoli.
Vigna described the first Indian edition of Universo Ferrari as a reflection of the company’s commitment to building lasting relationships with the country’s growing community of Ferrari owners and enthusiasts.
His message also underlined Ferrari’s determination to retain its distinctive identity while continuing to innovate.
Twenty-five Ferraris embark on an extraordinary Indian road trip
Perhaps the most memorable part of the celebrations took place beyond the exhibition itself.
To mark Universo Ferrari’s arrival in India, 25 Ferrari cars undertook an approximately 1,800km journey from Mumbai to New Delhi.
The route took participants through Vadodara, Udaipur, Jaipur and Agra, combining some of India’s most recognisable destinations with the pleasure of driving some of Italy’s finest sports cars.
It was a journey designed around more than performance. The event brought together Ferrari owners who share an enthusiasm for driving, travel and the history of the Prancing Horse.
For a marque whose road cars have always been closely associated with the enjoyment of driving, the event provided a fitting tribute to the occasion.
Supporting education through Ferrari’s community
Ferrari also used the exhibition to support educational opportunities for children from under served communities in India.
An exclusive charity auction was organised during a client dinner in partnership with Avélon Luxe, a partner of Ferrari’s Hypercar and Challenge Middle East programmes.
The auction featured ten lots celebrating different aspects of Ferrari, with proceeds supporting initiatives undertaken with Save the Children and Bal Raksha Bharat in India.
According to Ferrari, the funds will contribute towards school readiness, foundational learning, educational materials and improvements to teaching and classroom environments.
The initiative forms part of Ferrari’s wider commitment to what it describes as Co-Prosperity, supporting communities alongside its commercial activities.
ME Verdict: More than an exhibition
Ferrari’s arrival in New Delhi with Universo Ferrari illustrates how the world’s most prestigious automotive marques are looking beyond their traditional markets.
India offers considerable long-term potential, although Ferrari’s success will depend on more than the number of wealthy customers able to purchase its cars.
The company’s heritage, racing reputation, exclusivity and personal relationships with owners are equally important.
Bringing together historic Ferraris, contemporary road cars, motorsport and a spectacular cross-country driving event demonstrates how Ferrari intends to cultivate those relationships.
And while the exhibition celebrates the future of the Prancing Horse, it is reassuring to see that Ferrari continues to place its remarkable motoring heritage at the centre of its identity.
