Car manufacturers have launched a fresh round of discounts, deposit contributions and low-interest finance offers for October, with some buyers able to save several thousand pounds on a new car.
From 0% APR finance and manufacturer-funded price reductions to substantial PCP deposit contributions, there is plenty of activity across the UK new-car market this month.
Electric cars remain a major focus, helped by the Government’s Electric Car Grant on qualifying models, but some of October’s most substantial manufacturer incentives can also be found on petrol, hybrid, plug-in hybrid and even diesel cars.
Motoring Echo has looked through the latest manufacturer offers to highlight some of the deals available to private UK buyers during October.
Ford
Ford has started the final quarter of 2026 with a particularly strong package of incentives across its electric range.
The Mustang Mach-E comes with a £5,000 customer saving, together with 0% APR on four-year Ford Options. Ford’s Power Promise also includes a home charger for qualifying retail EV customers.
The electric Explorer is also available with 0% APR over four years, while Ford is promoting its Power Promise across the Puma Gen-E, Capri, Explorer and Mustang Mach-E.
Selected Explorer and Capri models can additionally qualify for the Government’s £1,500 Electric Car Grant, which Ford identifies separately from its own customer incentives.
Offers apply to qualifying vehicles contracted between 1 October and 31 December 2026.
Kia
Kia’s new Q4 programme runs from 1 October until 15 December and covers a substantial part of its range.
The headline is 3.9% APR across Kia’s electric-car range, with additional PCP deposit contributions on selected models.
The EV3 receives up to £3,000 towards the PCP deposit, while the EV5 Storm receives £2,000. Selected EV3 derivatives can also qualify for the separate £1,500 Government Electric Car Grant, while qualifying EV4 versions can receive the higher £3,750 grant.
Away from EVs, the Sportage Storm comes with up to £3,000 PCP deposit contribution — £3,000 on the hybrid and £2,500 on the petrol version — with 5.9% APR representative.
Even the Picanto receives a £500 PCP deposit contribution alongside 5.9% APR.
Mazda
Mazda has one of October’s widest-ranging finance campaigns, with 0% APR available across several models and some particularly substantial deposit contributions.
The CX-30 is available at 0% APR, with Exclusive-Line and Takumi versions also receiving a £1,000 deposit contribution. Mazda2 Hybrid combines 0% APR with £750 towards the deposit.
The biggest numbers are further up the range.
A CX-60 PHEV Exclusive-Line receives £5,750 deposit contribution with 0% APR, while selected CX-60 diesels receive contributions reaching £6,750, again with 0% APR.
CX-80 customers can receive £2,000 towards a PHEV or £3,000 towards a diesel, while the Mazda3 is also available with 0% APR.
Mazda’s Q4 retail offers apply to qualifying new orders placed between 1 October and 31 December 2026.
Suzuki
Suzuki has taken a more straightforward approach by cutting headline prices on some of its key models.
The Swift Mild Hybrid range now comes with a £3,500 customer saving, bringing the entry-level Motion manual down to £16,499.
The new electric e Vitara starts at £24,999, with Suzuki also offering 0% APR finance.
Unlike some offers where the headline saving depends on a finance agreement, Suzuki’s revised e Vitara pricing is designed to give customers a clearer advertised purchase price.
Volvo
Volvo’s October promotions include some of the largest finance contributions currently being advertised.
The XC60 plug-in hybrid receives an £8,000 finance contribution with 2.9% APR representative on Contract Purchase. Volvo is also advertising a 36-month 0% APR Volvo Loan with a 50% deposit and an £8,000 saving on the plug-in hybrid.
The regular XC60 is available with a £7,000 finance contribution on Contract Purchase.
At the other end of the range, the EX30 Plus P5 is being advertised with 0% APR and a £2,675 finance contribution on qualifying cars available for rapid delivery.
Existing Volvo owners may also qualify for further discounts on selected models.
Peugeot
Peugeot has gone beyond its normal finance promotions for October with a dedicated October Sales Event.
Customers can save up to £2,750 off the on-the-road price of selected new passenger cars ordered between 1 and 31 October 2026 and registered by the end of December.
The precise saving varies by model and derivative, making it worth checking the applicable discount before ordering.
Renault
Renault’s latest retail programme runs from 1 October until 16 December, with 0% APR available on a number of models subject to the required deposit.
The Austral E-Tech full hybrid is among the cars available with 0% APR representative, while the electric Megane E-Tech combines 0% APR with the separate £3,750 Government Electric Car Grant on qualifying versions.
Clio full hybrid offers include a £1,500 deposit contribution, although the representative APR differs from Renault’s 0% promotions.
Renault’s 0% APR offers generally require a 30% minimum customer deposit, so buyers should compare the amount being put down as well as the advertised monthly payment.
Dacia
Dacia continues to concentrate on keeping monthly payments relatively straightforward rather than headline 0% finance across the range.
One example is the Duster Extreme mild hybrid 140, available at £329 a month with a £329 customer deposit, accompanied by a £1,000 Dacia deposit contribution and 6.9% APR representative.
The current programme applies to specified new vehicles ordered between 1 October and 16 December 2026.
Nissan
Nissan’s October programme puts the latest Qashqai e-POWER firmly in the spotlight.
The Qashqai is available from £295 per month with 0% APR representative PCP, with the 0% rate available across the Qashqai range.
There is a significant qualification, however: Nissan requires a 30% minimum customer deposit for the 0% PCP offer.
The promotion runs from 1 October 2026 until 6 January 2027, with qualifying vehicles required to be registered by 31 March.
MG
MG’s Q4 offers introduce low-rate finance across several of its most important models.
The MG4 EV Urban is available with 0% APR PCP and no minimum deposit, while the MG3 Hybrid+, ZS Hybrid+ and HS Hybrid+ are offered at 2.9% APR.
The MGS9 Plug-in Hybrid receives a particularly competitive 0.9% APR.
These offers apply to qualifying vehicles registered between 1 October and 31 December 2026.
One point worth noting: MG’s previous test-drive voucher promotion finished on 30 September, so that saving should not be confused with the new Q4 finance campaign.
Mercedes-Benz
Mercedes-Benz is combining discounted finance with a sizeable saving on its A-Class.
The A-Class Hatchback is being offered with 3.9% APR representative plus an additional £4,500 saving, making it one of the more notable manufacturer-supported offers in the premium sector this month.
CUPRA
CUPRA has introduced a straightforward £3,750 customer saving on the Tavascan.
The reduction applies to new Tavascan models ordered between 1 October and 16 December 2026 and can be used by cash purchasers or alongside a qualifying Personal Contract Plan.
Importantly, this is a CUPRA-funded reduction in the vehicle’s purchase price rather than the Government Electric Car Grant.
The offer is not available with Personal Contract Hire.
Audi
Audi’s October electric-car incentive takes a slightly different form.
Private retail customers purchasing a qualifying new Audi e-tron or plug-in hybrid between 1 October 2026 and 5 January 2027 can choose a 7kW Ohme home charger with standard installation or £500 towards the vehicle’s price, subject to eligibility.
That could be particularly useful for customers moving to an EV for the first time and facing the additional cost of installing home charging.
Citroën
Citroën is offering 0% APR PCP across qualifying new models, although customers need a minimum 25% deposit and the finance runs over 24 months.
Qualifying orders must be placed and delivered between 1 October 2026 and 3 January 2027.
Electric models such as selected ë-C3 versions can also receive the Government Electric Car Grant. Citroën explicitly identifies the grant as Government support rather than a Citroën-funded discount.
Vauxhall
Vauxhall also has 0% APR offers running across selected models.
Current examples include the Corsa YES, which combines 0% APR with a £500 customer saving.
Selected electric models also benefit from the Government Electric Car Grant, although this needs to be distinguished from Vauxhall’s own discounts when comparing prices.
Fiat
Fiat’s October promotions include offers across its latest range, including Personal Contract Hire deals running from 1 October until the end of December.
The electric Fiat 500e is also available with 0% APR Conditional Sale on qualifying agreements, although a substantial 40% minimum deposit is required.
Eligible 500e models can additionally receive the Government Electric Car Grant, which reduces the effective purchase price independently of Fiat’s finance offer.
Alfa Romeo
Alfa Romeo has low-rate finance available on selected cars, including 0% APR representative on the Tonale Mild Hybrid Sport Speciale.
Other models use different rates, with the Giulia Veloce, for example, currently advertised at 4.9% APR representative.
As ever, the interest rate needs to be considered alongside deposit requirements, vehicle price and optional final payment rather than in isolation.
Jeep
Jeep’s latest offers include the new Compass Full Electric, with qualifying models receiving the £1,500 Government Electric Car Grant alongside 4.9% APR representative finance.
Again, the £1,500 reduction is Government support and should not be regarded as an additional Jeep-funded discount.
JAECOO
JAECOO continues to use aggressive finance rates as it expands its UK presence.
The JAECOO 7 SHS-P is available with 0% APR representative PCP, while the JAECOO 5 petrol is being promoted with 1.9% APR. The larger JAECOO 8 SHS-P is currently offered at 2.9% APR representative.
Personal Contract Hire and Business Contract Hire alternatives are also available across selected models.
Chery
Chery’s growing UK range also carries a selection of low-rate finance offers.
The TIGGO 4 is available with 5.9% APR representative, while selected TIGGO 7 and TIGGO 8 models are being advertised at 1.9%.
The TIGGO 8 CSH plug-in hybrid is available with 0% APR representative and no customer deposit, with a £500 test-drive voucher also advertised on eligible vehicles.
As with all newer manufacturer offers, customers should check the applicable order and registration dates with the retailer before committing.
smart
smart is running one of the stronger headline campaigns among premium electric brands, advertising 0% APR across its range together with savings of up to £5,000 on qualifying cars.
Individual savings depend on the model and offer selected, so buyers should check the full finance and purchase terms rather than assuming the maximum reduction applies across every derivative.
Genesis
Genesis is also using low-rate finance to support its electric range.
The GV60 and Electrified GV70 are currently available with 0% APR representative PCP, while the Electrified G80 is advertised at 1.9% APR representative.
Leapmotor
Leapmotor’s offer is particularly important to distinguish from the official Government scheme.
The company is offering its own LEAP-GRANT, with savings of up to £2,750 on its electric cars. The C10, for example, receives a £2,750 saving, bringing its advertised starting price to £33,750, with a 0% APR finance option also available.
Despite the similar name, this is a manufacturer initiative rather than the Government Electric Car Grant.
What about the Government Electric Car Grant?
October’s offers are complicated by the increasing number of electric cars qualifying for Government support.
That means buyers need to distinguish between three different incentives:
- a manufacturer price saving
- a manufacturer or finance-company deposit contribution
- the Government Electric Car Grant
Some cars can qualify for more than one of these at the same time.
A £3,000 manufacturer deposit contribution plus a £1,500 Government grant, for example, represents two separate incentives rather than a £4,500 manufacturer discount.
That distinction is important when comparing competing offers.
Don’t judge a deal by the monthly payment
October’s offers also demonstrate why the lowest advertised monthly payment isn’t necessarily the cheapest way to buy a car.
A 0% APR agreement can still require a substantial customer deposit, while a higher-rate PCP accompanied by a large manufacturer deposit contribution could potentially produce a competitive overall package.
Before signing, buyers should compare the cash price, their own deposit, manufacturer contribution, APR, number of monthly payments, mileage allowance, optional final payment and — most importantly — the total amount payable.
The same applies to Personal Contract Hire, where a low monthly figure can be accompanied by an initial rental equivalent to several monthly payments and the customer never owns the vehicle.
Motoring Echo Verdict
October is shaping up to be a buyers’ market — but the way manufacturers are offering value has changed.
Rather than relying solely on headline cash discounts, manufacturers are combining several tools: 0% or low-rate finance, PCP deposit contributions, direct customer savings, loyalty incentives, home chargers and, increasingly, the Government Electric Car Grant.
There are some substantial incentives. Ford’s £5,000 Mustang Mach-E saving, Suzuki’s £3,500 reduction on Swift, CUPRA’s £3,750 Tavascan saving and the sizeable finance contributions available from Mazda and Volvo show that support isn’t confined to one particular part of the market.
Perhaps more significant is just how common 0% APR has become. It appears this month on models from mainstream, emerging and premium manufacturers, ranging from MG and Mazda to Nissan, Citroën, JAECOO, Genesis and smart.
For buyers, however, the old rule remains the right one: look beyond the monthly payment.
A large deposit contribution is attractive, 0% APR is easy to understand and a cash discount immediately catches the eye — but the figure that ultimately matters is what the car will cost over the full agreement.
With manufacturers competing hard for registrations during the final quarter of 2026, October could be a very good time to negotiate.
Offers and prices were checked by Motoring Echo in early October 2026 and are subject to eligibility, availability and individual manufacturer terms and conditions. Finance is subject to status. Manufacturer offers may be changed or withdrawn. Government grants are subject to separate eligibility criteria and may also change. Buyers should confirm the latest offer and full terms with the manufacturer or supplying retailer before ordering.
