Aston Martin has unveiled the Valen, a dramatic new limited-production V12 supercar that becomes the most powerful front-engined road car in the company’s 113-year history.

Created through Q by Aston Martin and developed with the company’s newly formed Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) department, Valen combines an 850PS twin-turbocharged V12 with a full carbon-fibre body, substantial weight reduction and a comprehensively reworked chassis.

Production will be restricted to just 150 cars worldwide, with first customer deliveries scheduled for the second quarter of 2027.

850PS and 1,000Nm from Aston Martin’s V12

At the heart of Valen is Aston Martin’s familiar 5.2-litre twin-turbocharged V12, but in its most powerful specification yet.

It produces 850PS and 1,000Nm of torque from just 2,500rpm, establishing Valen as Aston Martin’s most powerful front-engined V12 supercar.

Power is sent through an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission featuring revised shift strategies derived from Aston Martin’s Vantage GT4 racing programme. The result is sharper and more immediate gear changes across all driving modes.

Aston Martin claims 0-60mph in 3.0 seconds, while top speed is electronically limited to 214mph.

Valen offers three performance-focused driving modes – Sport, Sport+ and Track – with individual throttle characteristics designed around their intended use.

Sport and Sport+ provide a shorter accelerator map, delivering greater throttle response earlier in the pedal travel. Track mode adopts a longer, more progressive response to give the driver greater precision when operating closer to the car’s limits.

Aston Martin CEO Adrian Hallmark said Valen combines the performance of the company’s V12 powertrain with a design intended to communicate its capabilities.

“With more power, less weight, and a spectacular soundtrack, the dramatic design is backed up by equally dramatic performance.”

Up to 110kg lighter

Increasing power was only part of Aston Martin’s brief. Weight reduction of up to 110kg compared with the core V12 platform has been achieved through extensive use of carbon fibre, aluminium, titanium and magnesium.

An optional lightweight package goes further, introducing machined-from-solid aluminium suspension arms and knuckles together with titanium chassis bolts. These components alone save a claimed 16.9kg.

Lightweight magnesium wheels are fitted as standard, reducing unsprung mass and helping improve steering response and wheel control.

They are paired with Aston Martin-specific Pirelli P Zero R tyres, measuring 275/35 ZR21 at the front and 325/30 ZR21 at the rear. P Zero Winter 2 tyres will also be available in corresponding sizes.

Valen additionally uses Pirelli’s Cyber Tyre technology, which supplies real-time tyre information to the vehicle’s electronic systems. Developed with Bosch Engineering, the technology allows the ESP, ABS and traction control systems to adjust their operating thresholds according to tyre data.

Chassis developed for greater agility

Valen receives extensive changes to its suspension, steering, braking and electronic control systems to create a more focused character than Aston Martin’s core V12 model.

Front and rear lateral stiffness has been increased, while roll and pitch have been reduced to improve responses to driver inputs.

A solid-mounted rear subframe is combined with model-specific springs, helper springs and Bilstein DTX semi-active dampers. Steering calibration has also been extensively revised, with Aston Martin aiming to give Valen the responses of a smaller and lighter car.

Simon Newton, Aston Martin Director of Vehicle Performance, said the engineering programme was focused on intensifying the character of the underlying V12 platform.

“Everything we’ve done to the powertrain and chassis has been driven by the same objective; to intensify the character and capability to deliver a truly thrilling experience.”

Stopping power comes from 410mm front and 360mm rear carbon-ceramic brakes, accompanied by a revised brake booster designed to provide a firmer and more precise pedal response.

Despite the increased dynamic focus, Aston Martin says Valen has deliberately retained enough compliance and refinement to make it suitable for long-distance road use rather than becoming solely a track-focused machine.

Titanium exhaust gives Valen its own V12 soundtrack

A bespoke lightweight titanium exhaust system has also been developed.

The quad-exit arrangement uses 3D-printed titanium finishers, with two upper and two lower outlets. The upper outlets remain permanently open, while valves control the lower pair according to the selected driving mode.

Aston Martin has tuned the system to reduce some lower-frequency sounds while amplifying higher tones as engine speed rises. The upper exhaust outlets have even been tuned using principles similar to organ pipes to increase resonance at higher revs.

The result is intended to give Valen a distinctive acoustic character to accompany the V12’s performance while meeting homologation requirements.

A radical interpretation of Aston Martin design

Valen represents a noticeably more aggressive interpretation of Aston Martin’s traditional front-engined, rear-wheel-drive proportions.

The full carbon-fibre body features deeply recessed slim headlights beneath the leading edge of a plunging bonnet, together with a more angular radiator opening, geometric mesh grille and sharply defined front splitter.

A single bonnet vent incorporates perforations along its trailing edge, while Aston Martin’s familiar side strake has been stretched and integrated into a functional wheelarch vent.

Large rear haunches emphasise the car’s rear-wheel-drive proportions, while a stepped sill creates a narrow waist between the front and rear wheelarches.

Saw-tooth vortex generators positioned towards the rear of the sills manage high-speed airflow beneath the car, reducing lift and contributing to aerodynamic downforce.

Marek Reichman, Aston Martin Executive Vice President and Chief Creative Officer, describes Valen as a significant departure for the company.

“Valen is a provocative front-engined supercar exuding increased potency and sporting intent, yet still celebrating the elevated luxury, meticulous detailing and unmistakable design signatures expected of a flagship Aston Martin.”

No conventional rear window

One of Valen’s most distinctive design decisions is found at the rear.

Aston Martin has dispensed with the conventional fixed rear window and separate boot lid, replacing both with a solid tailgate.

An integrated aerodynamic wing forms part of its upper section, while the tailgate opens to reveal 170 litres of luggage capacity. An optional Touring Pack includes bespoke luggage and a tailored protective cover for the bodywork when loading or unloading cases.

A full-width rear light bar sits beneath an upswept tail designed to work as a Gurney flap, generating downforce without requiring a conventional motorsport-style rear wing.

A perforated rear panel helps extract heat from around the exhaust system, while a substantial diffuser dominates the lower bodywork.

Satin Andromeda Red showcases Q personalisation

The launch car is finished in Satin Andromeda Red, a Q-developed paint combining deep red, copper and gold highlights with blue undertones depending on the light and viewing angle.

Customers will also be able to specify Valen with a fully exposed carbon-fibre body.

The carbon weave is carefully aligned to create a herringbone pattern along the centreline of the car and can be tinted in different colours with either satin or gloss finishes.

Customers wanting something more individual will be able to work directly with Q by Aston Martin to develop a bespoke carbon tint.

A lighter, more driver-focused cabin

The weight-saving philosophy continues inside.

A slim centre console uses advanced 3D-printed components and incorporates the performance-focused switchgear introduced on the mid-engined Aston Martin Valhalla.

The console is angled towards the driver, while the central touchscreen has been reclined to integrate more closely with the stripped-back cockpit design.

Customers can choose between new Sports Plus seats, intended to balance support with long-distance comfort, or lightweight carbon-fibre performance seats for a more focused driving environment.

Interior specifications begin with either Semi-Aniline Leather and Alcantara or full Semi-Aniline Leather, followed by five different material treatments: Monotone, Duotone, Light Duotone, Tritone and Driver Focused.

Q by Aston Martin will offer extensive additional personalisation, including different upholstery treatments, contrast detailing, anodised finishes and individually configured colour combinations.

Valen takes Aston Martin’s traditional front-engined V12 formula and pushes it considerably further towards supercar territory.

The headline numbers – 850PS, 1,000Nm, 214mph and 0-60mph in three seconds – provide the obvious drama, but the engineering beneath them is arguably more significant. Removing up to 110kg, introducing magnesium wheels, revising the suspension and steering and integrating real-time tyre data suggest Valen is about more than simply extracting additional power from the V12.

Its styling will inevitably generate debate. That’s unlikely to be accidental. Valen has been conceived as one of Aston Martin’s rarest and most extrovert front-engined specials, rather than a subtle evolution of an existing model.

With just 150 examples planned, an 850PS V12 and the almost limitless personalisation possibilities offered by Q by Aston Martin, exclusivity is guaranteed.

For Aston Martin’s front-engined V12 bloodline, Valen looks set to be one of its most extreme expressions yet.
