With the end of the year approaching, manufacturers are continuing to offer incentives across petrol, hybrid, plug-in hybrid and fully electric cars.
Some of the largest savings come through direct reductions in vehicle prices, while others depend on customers taking out a Personal Contract Purchase (PCP) agreement.

The larger JAECOO 8 SHS-P is advertised with 2.9% APR representative.
Buyers should confirm the latest availability and finance conditions with their retailer.
Government grants — Not all savings are manufacturer-funded
November’s electric-car offers demonstrate why buyers need to understand exactly where a discount originates.
The Government Electric Car Grant provides support on qualifying vehicles, subject to the scheme’s rules.
Some manufacturers operate separate, privately funded incentives with similar names.
A manufacturer deposit contribution is different again: it may only be available to customers taking out an approved finance agreement.
When comparing offers, buyers should identify the source of every contribution and whether the incentives can be combined.
How to compare November’s new-car offers
A large headline saving or low monthly payment does not automatically make a deal the cheapest option.
Before signing an agreement, buyers should examine:
- The vehicle’s full on-the-road price.
- Whether a saving is available to cash buyers.
- The APR and total amount payable.
- Any manufacturer deposit contribution.
- The customer’s initial deposit.
- The optional final payment on PCP.
- Mileage limits and possible excess-mileage charges.
- The order and registration deadlines.
A 0% APR agreement can provide a genuine benefit, but only when considered alongside the vehicle’s purchase price and the full finance terms.
Motoring Echo Verdict
November’s new-car market is offering plenty of opportunities for buyers, with manufacturers increasingly competing through finance packages as well as outright price reductions.
There are some substantial headline incentives.
Mercedes-Benz is advertising savings approaching £10,000 on selected GLE models, while Volvo, Audi and Mazda are offering sizeable finance contributions.
For buyers looking at more affordable cars, Suzuki’s £3,500 Swift reduction is a straightforward saving, while Toyota’s widespread 0% APR programme provides another route to reducing borrowing costs.
Electric vehicles remain a particularly competitive area, with manufacturers combining low-rate finance, deposit contributions, charging incentives and Government support.
However, Motoring Echo believes buyers should pay particular attention to the distinction between a genuine reduction in the purchase price and a finance contribution.
Both can represent value, but they are not interchangeable.
With the end of the year approaching, November is a sensible time to compare manufacturers’ offers, examine available stock and negotiate carefully.
The best deal is not necessarily the car with the biggest advertised saving or the lowest monthly payment. It is the one that offers the strongest overall value for the buyer’s circumstances.
