Aston Martin and Brough Superior have revealed the AMB 002 Roadster, their first motorcycle developed for the road and a highly exclusive 130bhp machine limited to just 300 examples worldwide.
The new AMB 002 marks a significant development in the partnership between the two historic British performance names. It follows the track-only AMB 001, unveiled in 2019, and the more extreme AMB 001 Pro introduced in 2022.
This time, however, the focus is firmly on the road.
Rather than adapting either of its predecessors, Aston Martin and Brough Superior have developed the AMB 002 from scratch, creating a lightweight sports roadster designed to combine distinctive Aston Martin styling with Brough Superior’s specialist motorcycle engineering.
At its heart is an all-new 1,083cc four-stroke, water-cooled V-twin engine producing 130bhp and 110Nm of torque.
With the complete motorcycle weighing just 190kg, the resulting power-to-weight ratio promises serious performance, although the engine has deliberately been tuned to deliver strong low and mid-range torque rather than simply chasing peak output.
Aston Martin design moves onto two wheels
The influence of Aston Martin’s design studio is immediately apparent.
Carbon fibre is used extensively, including for the sculpted fuel tank, side fairings and body panels. The compact proportions and forward-biased stance are intended to give the AMB 002 the appearance of movement even when stationary.
Crescent-shaped openings cut into the side fairings help cool the engine and manage airflow, while lightweight wire-style stalks support the low-mounted mirrors.
There are also numerous references to Aston Martin’s road cars and hypercars.
The company’s familiar side strake has been reinterpreted for the motorcycle, cutting through the side fairing and extending forward around the headlamp.
Twin oval exhaust outlets incorporate ribbed heat sinks inspired by the exhaust finishers used on the Vanquish, DB12 S and DBX S.
At the rear, blade-style lights reference the dramatic lighting treatments seen on cars including the Aston Martin Vulcan, Valkyrie and Valhalla.
Luxury hasn’t been forgotten either. Keyless operation, a backlit ignition button and hand-crafted leather seat pads bring elements more commonly associated with Aston Martin’s four-wheeled models to the AMB 002.
Marek Reichman, Executive Vice President and Chief Creative Officer of Aston Martin, said creating a road-going motorcycle had been a long-term ambition following the AMB 001 and AMB 001 Pro.
He described the new model as an expression of the two companies’ shared passion for creating “sculptural, visceral, covetable machines”, aimed at both enthusiastic riders and collectors.
All-new 1,083cc V-twin
Brough Superior has developed an entirely new engine specifically for the AMB 002.
The 1,083cc V-twin is designed, machined and assembled at the company’s headquarters in Toulouse, France, with CNC-machined billet engine cases helping reduce weight while increasing structural efficiency.
Its 130bhp output is accompanied by 110Nm of torque, with Brough Superior concentrating on accessible road performance and strong response throughout the rev range.
Thierry Henriette, President of Brough Superior Motorcycles SAS, said the motorcycle had been engineered to provide an unusually direct connection between rider and machine.
The relatively upright riding position and unobstructed forward view are intended to combine control and confidence with the precision expected from a lightweight sports motorcycle.
Five-kilogram titanium frame
One of the most striking pieces of engineering is hidden beneath the carbon fibre bodywork.
The AMB 002 uses a titanium backbone frame milled from a solid billet. Weighing just 5kg, it forms the motorcycle’s structural spine and contributes to a claimed 50:50 weight distribution.
Extensive use of lightweight materials, including the carbon fibre fuel tank and body panels, also helps lower the centre of gravity and centralise mass.
The result is a kerb weight of only 190kg, giving the AMB 002 the ingredients for particularly responsive handling when combined with the V-twin’s strong low and mid-range torque.
Fior fork replaces conventional front suspension
Brough Superior has also avoided a conventional telescopic front fork.
Instead, the AMB 002 employs the company’s distinctive double-wishbone Fior fork system, an evolution of the suspension developed for the AMB 001 Pro.
The arrangement separates steering and braking forces, allowing greater control over front suspension geometry while reducing dive under heavy braking.
According to Brough Superior, the system provides precise steering and agility while retaining stability through faster corners. Its anti-dive characteristics are also designed to improve composure when braking while the motorcycle is leaned into a bend.
It is another indication that the AMB 002 is considerably more than an Aston Martin styling exercise.
Just 300 will be built
Production will be deliberately limited.
Only 300 AMB 002 Roadsters are scheduled to be hand-built, continuing the exclusivity established by the previous Aston Martin and Brough Superior motorcycles.
Stefano Saporetti, Aston Martin’s Director of Brand Diversification, said the relationship between the companies had developed from an initial collaboration into a long-term luxury partnership.
Initial orders for the AMB 002 are already being accepted, with the first customer deliveries scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2027.

Motoring Echo Verdict
The AMB 002 is arguably the most important motorcycle yet to emerge from the Aston Martin and Brough Superior partnership.
The AMB 001 and AMB 001 Pro demonstrated what the two companies could create without the restrictions of road use. The AMB 002 takes that philosophy and turns it into something owners can actually experience away from a circuit.
A 130bhp V-twin, 190kg kerb weight, five-kilogram titanium frame, sophisticated Fior front suspension and extensive carbon fibre construction make the engineering as interesting as the styling.
With only 300 examples planned, exclusivity is guaranteed. But the greater significance is that Aston Martin’s motorcycle adventure has finally moved from the racetrack to the open road.
