KGM Motors UK has strengthened its dealer representation in the East Midlands with the appointment of Mertrux KGM in Derby, bringing more than 50 years of commercial vehicle experience to the growing network.
Formerly known as SsangYong, KGM has added the long-established vehicle specialist at 12 Chequers Road, West Meadows Industrial Estate, Derby, with the business now providing KGM vehicle sales, servicing and aftersales support to customers across the region.
Founded by Don Marshall in 1971, Mertrux has developed into one of the East Midlands’ established commercial vehicle businesses. From its beginnings in Burton-on-Trent and subsequent headquarters in Derby, the company has built extensive experience supporting business and fleet customers.
Today, Mertrux operates across Derby, Nottingham, Leicester and Mansfield, providing vehicle sales, servicing, parts and aftersales care throughout the region.
Its commercial vehicle background is particularly relevant as KGM continues to develop its presence in the UK pick-up, 4×4 and commercial vehicle markets.
Musso range takes centre stage
Mertrux KGM will offer customers access to KGM’s expanding vehicle range, including the Musso pick-up and the new fully electric Musso EV.
The dealership will also represent the next-generation Musso Rhino and Rhino+, together with the practical Rexton Commercial Vehicle and KGM’s wider SUV line-up.
The addition of Mertrux gives KGM an experienced commercial vehicle partner in Derby while extending sales and aftersales coverage for customers across the wider East Midlands.

KGM network continues to grow
The appointment comes as KGM continues to develop its UK dealer network and broaden its vehicle offering, with pick-ups and commercially focused 4x4s remaining an important part of the manufacturer’s proposition.
The arrival of the fully electric Musso EV also extends that offering into the electric pick-up sector, sitting alongside the established Musso and forthcoming next-generation Rhino models.
