CUPRA has broadened its all-electric Tavascan line-up for 2026, introducing a smaller 58kWh battery, a new entry-level Origin model and additional technology across the range. Prices now start from £39,995 on the road, while selected existing versions have also received price cuts.
The changes expand the Tavascan range to five trim levels – Origin, V1, V2, VZ and VZ Extreme – with three powertrain options giving buyers a wider choice of performance, specification and driving range.
New 58kWh battery joins Tavascan range
One of the biggest changes is the arrival of a new 58kWh battery paired with a 190PS powertrain.
Available with Origin, V1 and V2 trim levels, it provides a lower-cost alternative to the existing 77kWh versions, which are offered with 286PS and 340PS powertrains.
The new combination should broaden the Tavascan’s appeal to buyers who want the SUV coupé’s styling and technology but do not necessarily require the larger battery or higher performance of the existing models.

New CUPRA Tavascan Origin starts at £39,995
The new Origin trim becomes the entry point to the range at £39,995 OTR.
Despite its lower price, standard equipment includes 19-inch VULCANO alloy wheels, heated front seats, a 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit and CUPRA’s large 15-inch central infotainment display.
It gives CUPRA a Tavascan positioned below the £40,000 mark while retaining much of the design and equipment that distinguishes the electric SUV coupé.
More technology across the range
CUPRA has also added several technology features for the 2026 model year.
From V1 upwards, the Tavascan gains Mobile Device Key functionality and Vehicle-to-Load capability, allowing electrical equipment to draw power from the vehicle’s battery.
V2 models and above add Sennheiser Contrabass technology, while the higher-performance VZ gains Launch Control.
A 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit, Android-powered infotainment and intelligent climate control feature across the range, although individual equipment levels vary according to trim.
CUPRA cuts prices on selected Tavascan models
The expanded range follows price reductions introduced by CUPRA from 1 July.
The Tavascan V1 with the 77kWh 286PS powertrain has been reduced by £1,600 to £45,750 OTR.
Higher-performance versions have also become cheaper. The Tavascan VZ is reduced by £1,060 to £54,930, while the VZ Extreme receives a £1,005 reduction, bringing its price to £59,830.
Combined with the arrival of the £39,995 Origin, the changes create a significantly wider spread of price points within the Tavascan range.
Motoring Echo Verdict
The £39,995 Origin could be the most significant addition to the Tavascan line-up. A smaller battery will not suit buyers prioritising maximum range, but it gives customers another route into CUPRA’s distinctive electric SUV without having to pay for capacity or performance they may not need.
Meanwhile, additional technology and price reductions further up the range strengthen the proposition for buyers wanting more equipment or performance.
With five trim levels and three powertrain choices now available, CUPRA is clearly trying to move the Tavascan beyond being a relatively niche electric SUV coupé and make it a more accessible part of its mainstream range.
