Continental has launched the ContiMotion EVO, a new sport touring motorcycle tyre designed to deliver improved handling, grip and durability over the outgoing ContiMotion.
Available in its first sizes from September 2026, the ContiMotion EVO introduces revised carcass materials, updated compounds and a new tread pattern, with Continental targeting riders looking for a balance between everyday mileage and more sporting performance.
Christoph Ettenhuber, Head of Business Field Motorcycle Tires at Continental, said: “With the ContiMotion EVO, we’re offering a versatile sport touring tire. It combines intuitive handling with reliable grip in both wet and dry conditions – all while delivering impressive mileage for everyday use.”

Improved handling and grip
Continental says the biggest changes over the existing ContiMotion are found in the tyre’s construction and compound.
New carcass materials have been introduced to increase stability and consistency, while also helping to make the tyre more agile. Continental’s EasyHandling technology is designed to provide predictable steering response, particularly during changes of direction.
An updated hybrid silica tread compound has also been developed to improve grip in both wet and dry conditions, while the revised compound and tread pattern are intended to maintain performance over a longer mileage.
For higher-speed riding, the ContiMotion EVO uses Continental’s ZeroDegree steel-belt construction, combined with the new carcass materials to improve stability.
“The ContiMotion EVO has been upgraded in key areas without losing the fundamental renowned qualities of its predecessor,” Ettenhuber added. “Riders benefit from a tire that is noticeably more agile.”
Designed for sport touring and everyday riding
Continental is positioning the ContiMotion EVO for riders who use their motorcycles for everything from everyday journeys and longer-distance touring to more enthusiastic weekend riding.
The tyre is suitable for a broad range of naked bikes, roadsters, sports tourers and modern classics. Compatible motorcycles include the BMW R 12 nineT, Triumph Daytona 660, Ducati SuperSport 950, Honda CB650R, Suzuki GSX-8TT and Yamaha MT-09.
“The ContiMotion EVO is compatible with a wide range of popular naked bikes, roadsters and modern classics,” said Ettenhuber.
ContiMotion EVO sizes and availability
The first three sizes will become available from September 2026, with an additional 190/50 ZR 17 rear tyre following in November.
| Position | Tyre size | Availability |
|---|---|---|
| Front | 120/70 ZR 17 M/C (58W) TL | September 2026 |
| Rear | 160/60 ZR 17 M/C (69W) TL | September 2026 |

Continental says the new ContiMotion EVO can also be combined with the existing ContiMotion, giving riders flexibility when replacing individual tyres.
Motoring Echo verdict
The ContiMotion EVO represents an evolutionary rather than radical update, but Continental has concentrated on the areas that matter most to sport touring riders: predictable handling, wet and dry grip, stability and usable tyre life.
With fitments covering motorcycles such as the Yamaha MT-09, Triumph Daytona 660 and BMW R 12 nineT, it should appeal to riders who want one tyre capable of handling commuting and touring without giving up the enjoyment of a more spirited weekend ride.
